I have produced a species list for all the bats recorded so far at Blagdon Lake, based on the order given in Dietz et al, 2009. There are 18 species of resident bat in the UK, of which 17 are known to be breeding. At the present time, Avon Bat Group, Yatton & Congresbury Wildlife Action Group (YACWAG), the various professional workers and I have identified 12 species at the lake, but it is generally reckoned that there are probably more to be found.
